A Makerspace Challenge
I designed a template for a sun and moon paper lantern in Illustrator. In total, there were 12 panels: one sun side, one moon side, five star sides, and five flame sides. Then, I brought the design over to the laser cutter in the Makerspace, put a piece of cardboard underneath the paper, and adjusted the settings. Then, I glued tissue paper underneath each panel and glued the tabs. I placed a tea light inside the lantern to make it glow.
